Purpose and scope: 
The job of a traffic control laborer is to assist with ensuring pedestrians and automobiles do not interfere with a construction project. As a TC laborer, your duties are to assist in directing or diverting pedestrian and vehicle traffic to ensure the safety of the workers and traveling public in the work zone.
 
Responsibilities: 
Your responsibilities include placing temporary traffic control devices such as sign stands, barricades and delineators as needed to cover scope of work being performed by contractor. Assisting in setting up proper Lane closures, Flagging/ Shift set ups, Road closures all per M.U.T.C.D standards or Approved TC plan.   

 
Work Environment: 
Work is performed outdoors at construction sites (various locations) 

Physical Requirements: 
Occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds, Standing for long periods of a time up to 12hrs, ability to safely climb in and out of truck as needed for set ups.
 
Job Competency / Qualifications Education and Training: 
High School Diploma or equivalent
