Motive - MESSI - Solar
Position Overview: The Mechanical Superintendent will oversee day-to-day field operations, managing mechanical site leads and their crews on various solar, ESS, and construction projects. The successful candidate will be in the field approximately 75% of the time, ensuring effective execution, compliance, and efficiency, and will dedicate the remaining 25% to coordinating with upper management and internal company resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and professional development to mechanical site leads and field crews.
- Schedule and allocate crews and resources effectively.
- Read, interpret, and verify project compliance against plans and OEM specification sheets.
- Develop and implement structured programs for team management, communication protocols, and approval processes.
- Regularly review and verify daily reports submitted by site leads.
- Monitor and approve timecards, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
- Proactively coordinate with site leads to establish project goals and manage labor hours within allocated budgets.
- Communicate consistently with upper management regarding project statuses, resource requirements, and potential issues.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in solar, ESS, or construction industries.
- Proven track record of team leadership, professional development, and effective crew management.
- Demonstrated experience in scheduling and resource allocation.
- Strong ability to interpret plans, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in standard office software and reporting tools.
Additional Information:
- Work truck and gas card provided.
- Frequent travel to project sites required (approx. 75%).
Location: Field-based with periodic coordination from company offices.
Salary: $90,000 - $115,000/yr
