Job Description
Purpose and Scope:
The Electrical Foreman is responsible for managing an install crew, ensuring accurate installation, enforcing safety requirements, and reviewing construction and safety plans.  They keep the crew on schedule, check for quality and test the system.  They complete final inspections and help the crew clean up the work site.
Responsibilities:
  • Works closely with other onsite managers to deploy and run crew(s).
  • Conducts daily site safety meetings which meet or exceed OSHA standards.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders, as necessary.
  • Redlines stamped permit sets, as needed.
  • Conducts site surveys.
  • Confirms string size calculations.
  • Adapts system design, as needed.
  • Manages usage of project equipment.
  • Mitigates electrical hazards.
  • Installs grounding systems (conduit, raceways, electrical components, circuit conductors, interconnection, system instrumentation, etc.).
  • Organizes balance of system solar/electrical components.
  • Plans and performs wiring and installation of equipment and fixtures (e.g., inverters, solar panels, switches, circuit breakers, monitoring systems, electrical panels, fuses, etc.).
  • Oversees crew in panel install (mounts, rails, waterproofing, etc.).
  • Tests systems.
  • Applies appropriate labels.
  • Performs service calls, diagnoses and resolves all electrical issues.
  • Maintains records.
  • Meets or exceeds daily/weekly deadlines.
  • Provides user-friendly explanations of installations to customers.
  • Coordinates inspections and full commissioning.
  • Maintains that both trucks and tools are in clean working order.
  • Conducts Quality Assurance Audits at various stages of installation process.
  • Special projects, as designated.
  • All other duties as required.
Skills / Other:
  • Creative problem-solver.
  • Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Flexible schedule, as work requirements may extend beyond assigned, regular shift, as needs dictate.
  • Travel or out-of-area visits may be required with overnight stays.
Job Competency / Qualifications
Education/ Training:
 
  • High School graduate or equivalent, required.
  • Clean and current Driver's license (MVR check) in the applying State.
  • OSHA 10.
Experience:
  • Certified Electrical Foreman
  • 7 years of experience in Foreman role

Compensation: $35-$40/hr dependent on experience
