Purpose and Scope:
The 2026 Summer Electrical Engineering Intern will support the engineering team in the development, testing, and validation of electronic systems, including analog, digital, and power electronics.
This role is highly hands-on, with a primary focus on lab work, debugging, prototyping, and test support for both new and existing products.
Responsibilities:
- Assist engineers with testing, debugging, and validation of electronic systems and PCBs
- Support PCB bring-up and troubleshooting activities in the lab
- Perform measurements using standard lab equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, power supplies, electronic loads, etc.)
- Help collect, analyze, and document test data and results
- Assist with prototype builds, including PCB assembly, rework, and wire harness fabrication
- Support basic schematic capture or PCB layout updates under guidance
- Build and maintain test setups, fixtures, and lab equipment configurations
- Participate in root-cause analysis of failures and support corrective actions
- Communicate findings clearly with engineers and cross-functional teams
- Follow all safety procedures, especially when working with high-voltage systems
Skills / Other:
- Familiarity with test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies)
- Basic understanding of analog and digital electronics
- Exposure to PCB assemblies and soldering
- Ability to read schematics and basic circuit diagrams
- Familiarity with PCB design tools (Altium, Cadence, or similar) is a plus
- Basic understanding of power electronics concepts (DC-DC, AC-DC) is a plus
- Comfortable working in a hands-on lab environment
- Interest in working with higher voltage systems (up to ~1000V) under supervision and safety protocols
- Strong organizational skills and ability to document and present test data
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a cross-functional team
Education/ Training:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Technical Requirements:
- Basic electrical engineering knowledge and familiarity with MS Office tools
- Strong willingness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced engineering environment
Pay: $23-$25/hr
